Mark Moreton – BCHT Driver Guide

Accredited London Tour Guide

Mark Moreton
BCHT Driver Guide

As a born and bred Londoner, I’ve always been fascinated by the rich history of this great city.

Whilst working in the newspaper printing industry for 25 years, I did the Knowledge to become a world renowned London Taxi Driver. Having learnt thousands of roads and all the places of interest, I got my license in 2002.

To further my love for history I studied to become a certified London Taxi Tour Guide. I’ve since become a member, then a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Hackney Carriage Drivers and am now a very proud Freeman of the City of London.

Take a Black Cab Heritage Tour and see the exciting sights of London, both iconic and hidden, in a unique way. Listen to great stories with brilliant photo opportunities that will live in your memory forever.

Hope to see you soon

  • The tour is great because it can be molded to what you’d like to do. Mark Moreton was our guide and we really got to see all of the major sites that interested us. He knew just where to park, and had many interesting anecdotes about the stuff we were seeing – stuff you wouldn’t typically read about in a history book. He did a good job of putting things into context. He also pointed out some Harry Potter stuff, and after finding out we wanted to experience a high tea and find 007 memorabilia for our teenage son, he sent us links that were very helpful after our tour so that we could pick up the desired souvenirs and experiences we still wanted to do as we explored London on our for the next 4 days. We also got a picture on the Abbey Road together (which would have been hard to do alone). Very fun day!

  • Black Cab Heritage Tours delivered everything they said they would plus lots lots more – they even accommodated minor changes with no fuss at all.
Mark Morton our driver/guide was nothing short of amazing – we would call him a “unique” personality! Plus he was also good looking, had great skin (a comment from one of the passengers) and to think he had all of these attributes as well as being a Pom! – a very worthy representative of BCHT and we loved his quick-witted personality.
Thanks for a great day out and about in London Mark we had a memorable day.
We would highly recommend BCHT and remember to ask for Mark – you will not be disappointed.

  • We were referred to Black Cab Heritage Tours by a different driver who was already booked on the day we wanted to do our tour. Rob, the owner of Black Cab Heritage Tours, was very responsive and customized a tour for my family (2 adults and 3 young children) based on everything that we wanted to see and do. We were lucky to be placed with an amazing driver/guide, Mark Moreton. He was phenomenal and great with our three children! Mark was so knowledgeable about everything and answered all of our questions and provided us with history and facts in a way that even kept our young children entertained. When we went to Westminster Abbey, our (almost) 5 year old didn’t want to get out of the car and preferred to stay with Mark while he circled the area waiting for the rest of us to take some time to see the building from the outside. Mark had water for us in his cab and sweets for our kids. We told him what we planned to do in the afternoon after our tour ended and he gave me notes on how to get back to our hotel using the tube depending on where we ended up. We will be recommending Black Cab Heritage Tours and Mark Moreton to all of our friends back home!

  • Mark was a wonderful tour guide. He was knowledgeable, funny, considerate and very skilled at navigating the streets of London. He took us to popular tourist sites and he took us to places people rarely go. He told us so many wonderful stories. I have to say it was a perfect day. Thank you again Mark.

Black Cab Heritage Tours is Good to Go!

At Black Cab Heritage Tours we place the highest priority on the health and welfare of our customers, team and the wider community. This is particularly the case during the current COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.  It may be a little while before our guests arrive from overseas, as the UK Government recently announced the current 14-day quarantine period remains in place for inbound tourists - to be reviewed every 3 weeks.  We have, however, started to offer a limited number of private tour options as of Saturday 4 July, initially to singles, couples and small nuclear family groups - and we continue to accept future reservations.

Our approach is in line with the most recent guidance issued by the UK government, and additional advice from the World Health Organisation. We have also put in new health and safety measures in order to promote social distancing and to limit all non-essential face-to-face contact, which has been recognized by Visit Britain as "Good to Go!"
