The Windsor Day Excursion

Windsor-on-Thames in Royal Berkshire is less than one hour away from central London – but is home to the Queen of England! En route to Windsor we shall show you Runnymede Field where King John signed the Magna Carta in 1215 – a ‘great charter’ which forms the foundations of the constitutions of many countries worldwide.

On arrival in the wonderful town of Windsor your Private Driver Guide will lead a guided walking tour (which lasts 45-60 minutes) before suggesting options for a coffee break at a quintessentially English location before heading up to Windsor Castle. Windsor Castle is the oldest and largest occupied Castle in the world and the official residence of Her Majesty the Queen – its rich history spans almost 1000 years. Take in the sumptuous State Apartments plus also St. George’s Chapel, the burial place of many of England’s Kings and Queens including Henry V111 and the real ‘White Queen’ plus also the venue for the recent spectacular celebrity marriage of Prince Harry and Meghan Markel.
There are several options for lunch – including a picturesque riverside location service traditional English fayre in a relaxed setting and away from the crowded bars on the High Street – or perhaps a quintessentially Afternoon Tea at a cosy establishment in the village.

There will be time for some personal shopping or a walk along the River Thames – or even take a stroll into Eton to view Eton College which has educated boys since the reign of Henry VI including 13 British Prime Minister plus also Princes William and Harry. The tour fee does not include the cost of Windsor Castle tickets – but our concierge team are on hand to pre-order and secure your skip the line tickets if required.
