Roman and Medieval London

3 HOURS – FROM GBP220 PER CAB

Cut to AD 43 and witness the Romans marching into London through your time machine, the black heritage cab. You are advised to charge your imagination batteries overnight in order to view the special effects with clarity.

History lovers be prepared with your questions, because the tour guide is a keen Londoner and a historian. For the rest, you’ll shun your illusions about history being a bore. Dare to peek into the ‘Dead Man’s Hole’. Enjoy (or endure) the Execution site on Tower Hill and smirk at the origin of that well-used phrase ‘Can I hang with you?’ Old Roman Wall to Roman Amphitheatre and the 800-year old Magna Carta, we make sure the drama never ceases at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of The Tower of London.

Get ‘hung, drawn and quartered’ in the tiny little medieval streets from London’s less glamorous past. Drift into the story of the ‘Great Fire of London’. Decode the blueprint of Sir Christopher Wren’s architecture, including his masterpiece St. Pauls Cathedral. But we’re not done yet. ‘Braveheart’, Body Snatchers, Gallows of Old Newgate Prison and the World famous Criminal Courts of Justice – The Old Bailey…we’ll keep ‘em coming. Till you’re ready to join the history club like the rest of us.

Black Cab Heritage Tours is Good to Go!

At Black Cab Heritage Tours we place the highest priority on the health and welfare of our customers, team and the wider community. This is particularly the case during the current COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.  It may be a little while before our guests arrive from overseas, as the UK Government recently announced the current 14-day quarantine period remains in place for inbound tourists - to be reviewed every 3 weeks.  We have, however, started to offer a limited number of private tour options as of Saturday 4 July, initially to singles, couples and small nuclear family groups - and we continue to accept future reservations.

Our approach is in line with the most recent guidance issued by the UK government, and additional advice from the World Health Organisation. We have also put in new health and safety measures in order to promote social distancing and to limit all non-essential face-to-face contact, which has been recognized by Visit Britain as "Good to Go!"
